Living The Ohana Life

Copper Sunsets are one of my favourite things to view, especially on cool, effortless beach days. I didn’t go for a swim, just some scenery and lunch with my friend Melvern, which made this semi impromptu outfit post possible.

I rarely wear graphic t-shirts but on the occasions that I do, it usually almost always serves a witty or semi-patriotic purpose as does the one I’m wearing from The Ohana Life. The Ohana Life is an awesome graphic t-shirt company and e-commerce store founded by Annya Li Inniss that carries a select range of graphic tees that pay homage to our Trinbagonian culture. These tees carry a series of local dialect and slangs that our twin islands are usually known for. I’ve got to admit tee’s like these are my favourite because they present such a cool and quirky touch to our already very unique culture. Being from a place that’s so cosmopolitan and looming with so much racial diversity, tees like this give me a more keen sense of pride.

Dougla - pronounciation | dough-gla; a child born from the union of two different races: namely of Indian and African origin.

The project was birthed through Annya’s love for her home Trinidad and Tobago and also her fondness of graphic tees. Annya operates The Ohana Life from out of Connecticut USA and ships these graphic t-shirts worldwide. I paired it with a pair of white jeans and my gold metallic platform Steve Madden sandals to add a little ‘kick’ to things.
